Papers of Sidney B. Fay, 1885-1957.

Includes correspondence; notes, 1927, on interviews with individuals about World War I; lecture notes, outlines, and other course materials, 1931-1953; manuscripts report, 1924; book reviews by Fay; scrapbooks with book reviews and articles on Fay; publications lists; and sound recording, 1938. Papers (HUG 4385.10) include correspondence (1920-1948); notes on interviews with various individuals concerning World War I (1927); lecture notes and outlines (1938, 1941, 1946, 1950, 1953); manuscripts; report on Williamstown Conference session conducted by SBF (Conferences on Political Factors in Europe), 1924; publication lists; and a map of Fay titles from the Fay family papers. Correspondence (HUG 4385.20) contains personal and professional correspondence between Fay and a broad range of institutions and individuals, including his father. A note from Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes of the United States Supreme Court dated 1903 is found within the correspondence between Fay and his fater. Also found in the the correspondence is a letter from Richard Hale of Boston law firm Hale & Dorr dated 1931 discussing the sinking of the RMS Lusitania in 1915. Also contains Fay's 1931-1933 lecture notes and grade/theses lists for Harvard European History courses 28, 32a, and 34, and includes a scrapbook.
